Experience and Qualifications:
David has more than thirty five years’ experience in the construction industry. Born in Birmingham in 1953, David trained and qualified with one of the UK’s top chartered building surveying practices, Drivers Jonas in London, following a period employed by large construction companies.
He moved to Yorkshire to become a Director of Abbey Holford Rowe Building Surveying in Huddersfield. From there he joined DTZ Debenham Tie Leung and was promoted to Associate Director in 1999, when he transferred to the York office to head the building surveying department. He was directly responsible for staff and Quality Assurance procedures and under his leadership transformed the department from loss-making to a profit generator.
On 1 May 2002 he launched his own building surveying practice.
Project Management is a particular speciality of David’s. He has monitored the construction of a large B&Q Warehouse in York for a large Pension Fund. The success led to his appointment to oversee similar projects in County Antrim, Northern Ireland and Reddich, Worcester.
He has undertaken Condition Surveys of 25 West Yorkshire Fire Authority Fire Stations, and has undertaken surveys of all of the Authorities Drill Towers.
He has Project Managed numerous alterations and repairs to both Headquarters Buildings and Fire Stations throughout West Yorkshire.
Surveys of the Fire Stations has given him intimate knowledge and experience of the Authorities specific requirements which can be drawn upon when proposing new Fire Stations.
David is an extremely conscientious and hard worker and carries out his work with honesty and integrity. His experience brings expertise and professionalism and he possesses very good communication skills and is renowned for his methodical approach and eye for detail.
